Dr. Deepa earned her Ph.D in Physics from Cochin University of Science and Technology,
Kerala and has extensive experience in thin film solar cells. She started her career at Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore as Post-Doctoral Fellow after being awarded the UGC-Dr. D.S. Kothari Fellowship. Afterwards, she worked at
BioMark Sensor Research which is a part of Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP ), Portugal. On coming
back to India, she joined the Interdisciplinary Centre for Energy Research (ICER) in Indian Institute of Science after
receiving the Young Scientist start-up grant from Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Dr. Deepa
was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nanoscience and Technology, University of Calicut before joining
University of Kerala in March 2020.
The primary focus of her research is on developing materials for different types of solar cells
and fabrication of cost effective and energy efficient solar cells. She is also interested in working
on thin film materials for photocatalysis applications and electrochromic smart windows.
