Design and development of solid electrolytes for hydrogen fuel cells. This work is done as a part of partial fulfilment my Ph.D thesis under the guidance of Dr. Peter Koshy (Former Head) and Dr P Prabhakara Rao, Scientist F, National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Trivandrum. Currently, I working on to collect a detailed scientific and technical knowhow on application of pyrochlore oxides in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) applications, to synthesize new pyrochlores oxide ion conductor with better conductivity at lower operating temperature (Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells-ITSOFCs), to review various factors like dopant ion radii, effective charge and concentration and emphasizing how defect interactions control mass transport in double substitution of pyrochlores oxide and to optimize the conduction mechanism for design of an Intermediate Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (IT- SOFCs). My focus is on exploiting appropriate transport mechanisms that are favourable at intermediate temperatures.
